The weather has been favourable for boating this summer, and it has been encouraging to see that after a few quieter summers, the boat market has picked up again. While activity may not quite be at the levels seen in years gone by, boats have been selling at a reasonably good pace. Sailing boats in particular have sold well.
Guest harbours have once again been busy during the peak season, and people have been able to enjoy the excellent summer weather. Considering the general market conditions, we have achieved a good level of boat sales this year, and we also expect the autumn to bring a significant number of new boats to our brokerage portfolio. Demand for high-quality and relatively recent boats has remained strong throughout the year, and in addition to domestic sales, we have sold a considerable number of boats internationally.
Next week, the Uiva Boat Show (17–20 August 2023) begins in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, and we will of course be there throughout the event. Come and talk to us about anything related to buying or selling a boat – we are happy to help!
For new boats, delivery times remain extremely long, with many manufacturers only able to deliver boats ordered now next year or even the year after. We believe this will continue to support the value of relatively new, high-quality boats from established brands, while demand is expected to remain strong throughout the rest of the year.
Careful maintenance of a boat, keeping all relevant paperwork and documentation, and ensuring proper winter storage and servicing become increasingly important when a potential buyer is looking for the right pre-owned boat.
